Mutual exchange or transferEventually you may want or need another home. There are a number of options open to you. Transfers We would like every tenant to have a home that best suits their needs. So, if your circumstances change for example if your family becomes bigger or smaller, then you can ask to move into a different property. We will do what we can to help. There are always more people who want to live in our properties than vacancies and we have to balance the needs of tenants who want to move with those who are waiting for a home. Homes are allocated on a points system and you will be awarded a number of points depending on your circumstances. There is a leaflet called "How to become a Broxbourne Housing Association tenant" which explains how we allocate and let our homes. It is available from the Broxbourne Housing Association Office or from the Housing Needs Service at Broxbourne Borough Council. You should also ask for a transfer application form or download the form using this link. You can register a transfer application if you have held your tenancy at your current address for one year and have a need to move. Mutual Exchange/Home SwapperHome Swapper is the largest mutual exchange service for council and housing association tenants wanting to swap homes. You can swap your home with a tenant of any housing association or local authority in the country, providing that you have each kept your homes in good order and have no money owing to your landlord. Each tenant must get written permission from their respective landlord. Permission will not be refused unless there is a very good reason (like monies owing, or if granting permission would result in overcrowding).
