Value for money

Can you help reduce costs and improve services?

We work hard to run an efficient, effective and economic business. We want to drive down costs because the more we save, the more we can do for our residents.

But we also want to improve our services to you. Many of you have helped us do this, either individually or through our many residents’ groups.

When we make a saving or improve services, we call this ‘value for money’.

This year we gave an extra £75,000 to residents’ services – money made available from value for money savings made the year before. Some of this money was spent improving the environment and estate services, as suggested by residents, and reported in ‘Home’, our residents’ magazine.

In 2011 we are making value for money savings in these areas:

  • Income management and arrears
  • Improving communication and value for money through our new Customer Service Centre
  • Working for other local housing providers to create extra income
  • Securing the best possible deal on our loans
  • Using IT to reduce inefficiencies
  • Reviewing how we manage and invest in our homes
  • Working with residents to decide on value for money ideas and how savings are used to improve services
  • Reviewing how we deliver services and finding better ways of working
